POSITIONS

1988 Mr. Christov was appointed CONDUCTOR of the VARNA PHILHARMONIC.

1990 he was elected by the orchestra to be their CHIEF CONDUCTOR. In that same year he led the orchestra to critical acclaim in concert tours of Spain and Austria.

1992 he was GUEST CONDUCTOR with THE SAVARIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA for the VIENNA SUMMER music festival at the Vienna Rathaus.

1993 he performed at the same festival with the STATE MUSIC THEATRE-SOFIA in the “Theater an der Wien”.

1994 Mr. Christov was appointed as GENERAL DIRECTOR of the STATE MUSIC THEATRE-SOFIA and in 1995, again to critical acclaim, he led them on a tour of Greece.

1995 he was the first Bulgarian conductor, invited for a new production of the VIENNA KAMMEROPER.

1996 Mr. Christov led The State Music Theatre- Sofia on extensive tours of Europe where they were enthusiastically received in Switzerland, Holland, Denmark and Germany.

2000 Mr. Christov became CHIEF CONDUCTOR of the YOUTH PHILHARMONIC SOFIA

2001 toured with the orchestra in Switzerland.

Since 2002 Mr. Christo has been CONDUCTOR with the NATIONAL PHILHARMONIC SOFIA and as a guest conductor he performs throughout Europe.

Mr. Christov also is a juror for international music competitions in Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania and Bulgaria.
